SEPTEMBER 17TH – MUSHROOMS
Mushroom foraging is an age-old practice that has seen a resurgence in recent years. As more individuals seek to reconnect with nature and discover the wonders hidden beneath the forest floor. Learn the basics of mushrooms in North Idaho from safety to harvesting.

SEPTEMBER 24TH – JADAM
JADAM technology is a collection of simple agricultural techniques and inputs: designed to provide you with affordable alternatives to traditional farming inputs. JADAM encourages us to “ask nature” for the answers to common growing issues. It suggests that you take a scientific approach by observing how nature operates: how plants grow, how soil is protected, even how microorganisms interact to achieve a balanced environment. In this class we will discover how JADAM encourages growers to create their own fertilizers and pesticides using locally available materials. This includes using leaf mold, and plant extracts to produce effective organic solutions.

OCTOBER 1ST – INDOOR GARDENING FOR A WINTER HARVEST
As temperatures dip and the days shorten, winter is imminent and gardening is put on the back burner. Why not try winter gardening indoors? An indoor winter garden won’t provide you with all the produce you need but can reduce some of the produce you purchase from the store. Plus, growing winter indoor plants allows you to keep your thumbs green and energized. Learn how to create the perfect indoor garden to beat those winter blues.

OCTOBER 8TH – SOIL: THE FOUNDATION TO YOUR GARDEN
Growing a beautiful, healthy garden starts from the ground up. The secret is in the soil. Soil is a mixture of water, air, living organisms, organic matter and minerals. Achieving the right balance of these ingredients is the key to healthy soil and plants. Learn how to obtain the right balance for healthy soil, which is essential to success. Information for soil testing will be provided to help you achieve that healthy foundation.
