2023 Spring Home Horticulture Workshop Series

This year’s class lineup:

March 29   Maintaining an Orchard by Kyle Nagy

SOLD OUT! This class will provide information about year round orchard care. Kyle Nagy, Superintendent and Orchard Operations Manager of the Sandpoint Organic Agriculture Center, will go through what you need to do to care for your fruit trees each month of the year, including pest management, fertilizing, pruning and harvesting.

April 5   Mushrooms by Art Church

An introduction to the 40+ varieties of wild edible & delicious mushrooms available in this area, with special emphasis on awareness of poisonous varieties; Art will include instructions on growing your own at home. There will be handouts and a list of recommended books to help the beginner or novice.


This class must be preregistered and paid for-no walkins will be allowed due to space. Class size will be limited to 30. BCGA will be offering several more mushroom classes during the year.

April 12   Soil Nutrition by Manuela Eiring

Manuela will explain how to use organic amendments to keep your soil, vegetables and ornamentals healthy.

April 19   Designing & Planting a Vegetable Garden in North Idaho by Karen Bennett

Karen will cover the basics of soil, fertilizers, pest management, seed starting, as well as weed and water management. She will also include varieties that perform well in our climate, and ways to extend your growing season.

Fees cover the cost of venue, publications, materials and the support of non-profit activities of the Bonner County Gardeners Association.

We are unable to provide credits, refunds or transfers for any classes.

We would appreciate no children under 12, please.
